Invest in Vets, Charleston, SC:
Here in historic Charleston, S.C., remnants of battles fought at Ft. Sumter and Ft. Moultrie stand in stoic testament to the men and women in uniform. The USS Yorktown docked in Charleston Harbor displays the Medal of Honor Museum which tells the stories of the brave Americans who served and protected the U.S. with remarkable courage. We are honored to offer Charleston military Veterans an opportunity to conquer even more and realize their dreams.
SCORE Charleston in coastal South Carolina chapter is pleased to announce the INVEST in VETS™ program to support Veteran-owned business and entrepreneurs in the Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and Williamsburg County area. This year, the program is sponsored by The SunTrust Foundation.
How the Veterans Grant Program works:

- Applications will be evaluated by a group of independent outside advisors who are prominent in the community.
- Selected military veterans will receive support from SCORE Charleston, SC in the form of education, mentoring and monetary grants.
- Grants.will be awarded and distributed twice each year.

2018 Success Story:
William Brown is one of our 2018 Veteran Grant award winners. Since his award last July, William added 3 new locations and added 4 additional staff. The grant was used for operation expenses. William's program has been accepted into the Veteran Administration fulfilling his objective to align with the Whole Health Initiative. Anything is possible.
SCORE Charleston has been supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses in the area since 1972. We have many active mentors with skills and experience in diverse areas who give freely of their time, energy and knowledge to help foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education.
The generous availability of funds to award as Grants to Veteran-owned business is contributed by The SunTrust Foundation. Together, we believe it will make an impactful difference to the Veterans who have served their Country.
